Chief Samson Olukayode Taiwo

A graduate of The Polytechnic Ibadan where he bagged an HND in Accountancy at Upper Credit level. He also holds an MBA degree from the Ladoke Akintola University. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. 

An alumnus of AMP programme of Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrator in England UK, he spent about two decades in the service of Federal Inland Revenue Service where he rose to the rank of Deputy Director of Taxes.

In his sojourn at FIRS he worked in various capacities such as Chief Inspector in the Investigation Dept, 2004 to 2008. In 2009 He was made the head of Special Tax Audit pision where he distinguished himself as an efficient and ebullient tax administrator.

He was posted to Lagos in 2011 as the pioneer Tax Controller in the Medium Tax Office. He was also asked to set up Government Business Tax office Lagos in 2012. He was made the Tax Controller of Large Taxpayer's Office in 2013 and was voted the Best Tax Controller in the Large Taxpayer's Department in 2014. 

In 2011 due to his technical competence he was made a member of ATAF working group on Indirect Taxes in Africa the position he held till his retirement.

Mr Taiwo retired voluntarily from the service of FIRS in 2016 as a State Coordinator in the Lagos Mainland West. After retirement he set up his Tax Consultancy firm named Golden Palace Consulting, and he is a Director on the board of some companies. He is a Director at Biomedical Ltd Ilorin. He is presently the National President of FIRS Retired Officers Association.

Mr Taiwo is a devoted Christian and a Past  President of the Men's Friendly Society of the All Saints Anglican Church, Ikosi Ketu. He is also a Special Member of Bible Society of Nigeria. 

He is also an Immediate Past  President of Jericho Businessmen Club of Ibadan, a member of Polo Club Ibadan and Lagos Country Club Ikeja. A member of Ibadan Turnaround Group.

As a grassroots person and his service to humanity, he was made a Mogaji of his family. He is a member of Ibadan North East Traditional council.

As a man of many parts, and whose humanitarian service extends beyond his home town. His service beyond Ibadan, this was why he was honoured with a chieftaincy title of Aare Majeobaje of Ilaro Yewa in May 2023 by His Royal Majesty Oba Kehinde Olugbenle MFR Olu of Ilaro and the paramount ruler of Yewa land. Chief Taiwo is married and blessed with wonderful children.
